Kids Say:

"Sure, the game is fun, but it glorifies the use of non-renewable energy sources! If a player gets off to a good start at the beginning, the sky is the limit. If not, tough luck."

Adults Say:

"At first glance, this looks like Ticket to Ride, but it is more interactive and requires more economic choices. The storyline (trying to provide electricity to the most cities) is every bit as unexciting as it sounds. Unless you’re from Germany, where this game was invented. The German board game audience famously gravitates to games about fiscal equilibrium, no matter how dull the theme is. I think I’m one-eighth German, which might be why I kind of love them, too."

"Powergrid gives the losing players first crack at various resources, but this is not enough to slow down the player who is in front, and the rich tend to get richer on a steady march to victory."
